Meet our friendly intern Will

My journey to the Dahlkemper campaign for United States Congress starts like any other story... at the beginning.

I graduated from Allegheny College in the spring of 2007 with a degree in International Studies, which, I'm well aware, is not quite Political Science.  So, maybe this isn't the true "beginning" for me, but trust me, I led an extremely boring life up to this point and it's really not worth mentioning.  Anyway, I set out into the real world full of the youthful conviction that I could go and make a positive difference as well as a mind-numbing disgust for the Bush administration. I should also mention that the lovely and weatherworn Meadville, where Allegheny College is currently located and has been since 1815, is my hometown.  Needless to say, I was more than ready for a change in scenery after graduation.

Despite having no real prior experience in campaign management or politics in general, I managed to bumble my way onto the McCord campaign for Pennsylvania State Treasurer in Philadelphia. No sooner had I settled there, when the campaign took a turn in a different direction that was not to include me.  Yes, I know... how terrible...how awful. Don't worry, the parting was on good terms (I would even go as far to say super-awesome terms) and I still firmly believe that Rob McCord is an excellent candidate for State Treasurer.

I dragged myself back to Meadville and began looking for another campaign.  I worked my network of contacts.  One of my former professors from Allegheny, Dr. Dan Shea, pointed me in the direction of Kathy's campaign.  She seemed like an extremely upstanding and forthright individual that was genuinely interested in serving the interests of the people (and she really is all these things in real life too, honest).  I met with Kathy's campaign manager, Tina Mengine, who offered me an internship right there on the spot.  Since then, I haven't looked back, except to see if Congressman English is filming me.  There is no conclusive evidence yet that he is, but I have my own theories.
