Meet Dennis - Intern for Kathy!

My name is Dennis. I am currently a senior at Penn State Behrend, majoring in Political Science. I have been interested in politics for years, especially at the national level. I got involved in the political process during the 2004 Presidential Election, volunteering for Democratic candidates for various offices.

I felt change was needed then, so imagine how I feel now. We need new members of Congress to be brave and take the steps needed to turn this country around. I felt that this year was our year to win the 3rd district when I saw the field of candidates. When Kathy decisively won the Democratic Primary, I knew that she was the person that would be able to finally represent the district in the way that it deserves.

I started working for Kathy in June, and I must say it has been a great experience. I have travelled throughout the district, meeting people and discussing the issues with them. I have helped in fundraising efforts to aid in spreading Kathy's message. I have learned the time and effort it takes to wage a congressional campaign.

I have also met some great people along the way. I worked registration at a fundraiser in Kathy's honor. I met Auditor General Jack Wagner, all of the Democratic primary candidates, Erie Mayor Sinnott and many other distinguished guests. Even though the sun was beating down on us at a crisp 100 degrees (or so it felt), everyone's spirits were up and could not be beaten down. The enthusiasm for Kathy's campaign was palpable then and I have seen the same all over the district.

I have enjoyed myself spreading Kathy's message across the 3rd District and I plan on continuing to do so until November 4th.
